TRILLION GAME
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Haru Tennouji is the kind of guy you notice the second he walks into a room — he's loud, fearless, and probably lying about something. Gaku Taira is his polar opposite: a brilliant programmer who can barely make eye contact during a job interview. These two become best friends after Haru saves Gaku from getting beaten up, and years later they both end up applying to Dragon Bank, one of Japan's biggest IT companies. But here's the thing — instead of climbing the corporate ladder, they decide to ditch the safe path and start their own company with one ridiculous goal: make a trillion dollars. This 26-episode TV series from Madhouse is basically a buddy drama about two guys whose skill sets have zero overlap, and that's exactly what makes them dangerous together. Haru handles the hustle, the bluffing, the big-picture vision. Gaku handles the actual tech wizardry that makes it all real. The dynamic between them carries the whole show — one scene Haru's talking his way out of an impossible situation, the next Gaku's quietly pulling off something no one thought was possible. The tone is emotional but grounded, with real tension around startup culture and the tech world that feels specific rather than generic. If you liked the con-artist energy of Great Pretender or the rich-guy problem-solving in The Millionaire Detective, this hits a similar nerve but trades spectacle for entrepreneurial ambition. It's a seinen through and through — patient storytelling, adult characters, real stakes.
