The title is so true, the system and hatred between the two main communities in this series' world is circular and never ending - which is a concept clearly displayed in this episode. The way the world is developed while the series is still characters centered, holy peakk

The reveal with Mado's ring made everything feel cruel and not like the justice she set out to instill. The interchanging scenes between the monologue about the injustice on both Touka and the police investigators side was both cruel and effective in showing the cycle of anger.

Kaneki's realization and epiphany in the rain made so much more sense for his character as someone who is caught between his existence as a ghoul and a human. Neither side sees or emphasizes with the other, and continue killing those from the opposing side without looking deeper.

S1 EP8. I hate to see this useless fights just because of lack of dialogue. It is a pointless fight, but above all the root cause of all this fights is non other than humans. Because humans are the brightest creatures that is created, ghouls yes have it’s bad side, but you can’t

Really felt sad for Hinami! Kaneki v/s Amon was such a clash of ideals! ⚔️. The "I'm the only one who knows both worlds" realization is huge for his development. The fight animation stayed crisp, and that ending with Mado and Hinami is just chills. Pure emotional payoff.

The director's decision to make a parallel between Amon and Touka was a good choice. They're both, from their respective perspectives, the ones that are being wronged. They are fighting for the innocent bystanders in their world, unaware of the damage they're causing.

Kaneki’s eyepatch mask drop? Clean. Animation on the white hair + mask contrast was stunning. Atmosphere darker and more determined. Felt like his glow-up arc kicking in, I was here for it.

This episode surprised me emotionally. It’s softer, but somehow heavier. You see the humanity inside the ghouls, and it makes everything complicated. I didn’t expect to feel sympathy this deeply.

It’s time for the "get back." Our boy finally stops running and stands his ground against a high-tier briefcase OG. We get the first real look at what a Half-Ghoul can do when the gloves come off. The cycle of revenge just did a full 360.

I felt this episode really showed that ghouls and humans aren’t so different when it comes to caring for loved ones—both experience loss. The fights were epic, and Kaneki’s inner struggle with his ghoul side made me see how complex both worlds really are.

Kaneki vs Amon was actually good, Kaneki being the better person really showed growth on how he handled this fight. Mado being twisted and doing what he did in this ep is actually diabolical. Hinami with her bittersweet moment was nice to see.

arc closes out but the arc was never really about the villain it was quietly diagnosing something about kaneki that the show refuses to say out loud. trusts you to catch it yourself. that kind of storytelling restraint is genuinely rare and i respect it every time.

Touka vs. Mado is the highlight here. The animation for the Kagune vs. Quinque combat is fluid and impactful. Kaneki finally showing a spark of resolve to protect others marks a huge turning point for his character growth. Go watch! 🌟

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the heightened stakes of 'Captivity' in episode 7, 'Circular' functions as a critical turning point at the season's two-thirds mark, deepening the psychological and ideological conflicts that will define the final act. The groundwork laid in earlier episodes around coexistence and Kaneki's fractured identity now begins to bear heavy consequences. With four episodes remaining, this installment pivots the narrative toward the climactic confrontations that will close out the season.
