The atmosphere in this episode feels heavy. But Miki finally develop her character and also her relationship between her classmates. And then this episode ends with adorable interaction between Koyuki and the others.

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 8, this installment lands deep in the season's emotional core, well past early setup and still ahead of any likely resolution. By this point, the dynamics between Koyun, Minato Amamiya, Youta Hino, and Miki Azumi have had room to develop complexity, making a balance-of-power shift between characters feel earned. 'On Equal Footing' reads as a bridge episode, one that recalibrates relationships before the season pushes toward its final beats.
