sawal★★★☆☆EP 18The Outcast Season 6
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Don't let his appearance fool you. Zhang Chulan could pass for your average Chinese university student, but his grandfather left him with dangerous supernatural abilities and a whole lot of secrets. By season 6 of this ONA, he's deep into one of the series' most compelling arcs yet. After the fallout from the Bi You Village incident, Chulan starts digging into the origins of Feng Baobao, his enigmatic companion who's basically a walking mystery wrapped in absurd combat skill, and that search pulls him toward a guy named Lu Jin. What he gets from Lu Jin is a list of the Thirty-Six Thieves and some uncomfortable truths about why Jin Feng was kidnapped. From there, the crew heads into the Qinling Mountains to protect Wu Gengsheng's collection before the wrong people get to it first. The power system here is one of the best parts: it's grounded in traditional Chinese martial arts and Taoist supernatural techniques, which gives the fights a texture you don't get from most action series. The animation from Qiyuan Yinghua leans into a style that blends modern production with traditional Chinese art, and it works. If you liked the supernatural faction politics in Tokyo Ravens or the chaotic energy of Kekkai Sensen, this hits a similar nerve. Fans of Noragami's mix of mythology and action will feel at home too. Twenty-six episodes across this season, and the pacing stays tight. Worth catching up on if you haven't already.

reiryoku_rush_472★★★★☆EP 25I couldn't believe how fast those bubbles turned Chulan's golden light into a giant fire trap and he looked so panicked
rach_m★★★★☆EP 25Seeing Zhang Chulan panic because his own golden light was literally catching fire from those bubbles was crazy Tao Jie is terrifying for a girl who says she is bored of training
erwin_enigma_108★★★☆☆EP 25My skin crawled when Tao Jie started turning Zhang Chulan's own Golden Light against him with those fire bubbles and I really thought he was done for right there
matsumoto_melon_467★★☆☆☆EP 24I really did not need that long flashback for the random mercenary and his training because it just killed the momentum of the fight and made the whole thing feel way slower
vile_tyrant_juju★★★★☆EP 24Lingyu standing there and just eating every single hit from that blue haired mercenary was so cool and that golden light defense is such a show of force
tesso_titan★★★★☆EP 24I really liked seeing Zhang Lingyu use the Golden Light and he just stood there while that mercenary went crazy with the speed strikes
