Oshimeter
Synopsis
After dragging himself home from another soul-crushing day at work, Kuroto Nakano finds an 800-year-old fox girl in his apartment making dinner. That's the setup for this 12-episode TV series, and honestly, that's kind of the whole show, and it works way better than it has any right to. Senko is a fox demigod sent from the spirit world because Kuroto's stress has gotten so bad it's manifesting as a literal darkness inside him. Her solution? Move in, cook him warm meals, clean his apartment, and just... be there for him. No big dramatic arcs, no villain to defeat. Just a tired guy slowly learning to accept care from someone who genuinely wants to help. Doga Kobo nails the iyashikei vibe here: the pacing is deliberately slow, the soundtrack is soft and melodic, and most scenes take place in Kuroto's small apartment, which makes the whole thing feel surprisingly intimate. It's comfort food in anime form, blending Japanese fox folklore with the very real exhaustion of modern work culture. If you liked the cozy supernatural roommate energy of Gugure! Kokkuri-san, or you're into shows like Kanokon where folklore characters crash into everyday life, this hits a similar note but leans way harder into pure relaxation. It's the kind of show you watch after a rough day when you just need something gentle. The tail-fluffing scenes are weirdly therapeutic.

teurezi★★★★★VerifiedEP 12This was a good wrap-up! The animation and soundtrack were on point. I'm happy we get to know what Senko truly wants and how Nakano felt without her. It goes to show how these two really needed each other. I would rewatch this anime to feel relaxed and be pampered by Senko!
teurezi★★★★★VerifiedEP 11This ep was less light, but it's a necessary watch because everything is coming together—especially for Nakano. I like that this show dives deeper into their sentiments. When Senko was willing to learn everything about him, including his bad sides, it felt so heartwarming.
teurezi★★★★★VerifiedEP 10THIS WAS A REALLY CUTE AND HEARTWARMING EPISODE! When they were playing in the snow, it just felt so warm—I loved seeing them have fun like kids. Though there isn't much plot development, this ep is still a must-watch! Lastly, an upset Senko is really really cute! 😭💘
