Synopsis

Hayato Kirishima spent his childhood in the countryside, running around with his best friend, a scrappy, mud-covered kid he was completely sure was a boy. Years later, he transfers to a city high school and meets Haruki Nikaido, the school's untouchable beauty, elegant and composed, the kind of girl everyone admires from a distance. Turns out, she's that same kid. The one he used to wrestle in the dirt with. She was a girl the whole time. What makes this work is the gap. In front of everyone else, Haruki is poise and grace personified. The second she's alone with Hayato, the mask drops and she's back to being the loud, blunt, zero-filter friend he remembers. That contrast gives the comedy real legs, and the romance builds naturally from the fact that these two already know each other; they just didn't know everything. This is a TV series based on a light novel, set to air in 2026, blending school comedy with a slow-burn romantic setup. The childhood friend trope gets a genuine twist here since Hayato's entire understanding of who Haruki was gets flipped.
