I love that Challe is silently showing how defiant he is as a character while always searching for a chance to escape. A badass without being loud is so rare these days. It's also sad to see the repercussion of enslaving fairies as a custom distort the fairies' view of freedom, though I admit it's the most unrealistic thing about it. The conflict between fairies and human are mostly background plot that barely has a scene to really emphasize the growing unrest of the conflict.

A cliffhanger finale unfolds with an epic fight scene that honestly felt far too short, is what i really feel. Even though the overall flow was fairly gratifying, particularly with the tender redemption of characters like Bridget, the ending feels somewhat abrupt after all the gradual tension built up this season. It leaves me wanting even more, as there are still many things that need to be unfolded. Even with its uplifting conclusion, the narrative remains very open, and it literally need another season!!!

Honestly, I was expecting higher stakes for this episode, given how intense the establishment of this narrative was and how the bar of anticipation was set so high. However, this one actually provides a great setup, especially now that the season is nearing its end. Instead of focusing heavily on major conflicts, it shifts toward an emotional weight approach that helps elevate the underlying tension even further. Plus, the animation never fails to impress me, particularly the near end part, which was flawlessly smooth.

What I love the most about the condition of the challenge is the fact the winning condition hinges entirely on Noah's preference. Thus, it gives Anne a fighting chance to win without making her a mary sue for winning against a very experienced sugar artisan. Hugh's compelling and complex relationship with his job that allows power yet less freedom. The price for his goal that is yet to be said. So good. The design for the confections are beautiful as always, the artist does so well in bring magic to food.
