Another episode with an unhurried rhythm and conversational focus as usual, despite following the devastating cliffhanger from the last episode, honestly there isn't much here that particularly hooked me at the moment. Nonetheless, Challe's character provides the solid support that Anne can surely rely on. And their chemistry is great, even those smallest gestures really make my heart race from time to time and leave me anticipating for more.
In this episode, conflict begins to emerge, though it is not particularly major. Besides that, Anne's character get some developments. This episode focuses on how Anne deals with problems as the head crafter. Overall, not much happens in this episode, but it is still worth watching.
The stakes escalates with things outside of the cast's control and the pride of a sugar artisan won't allow them to ask for help. While that is something I personally found infuriating, the show make a compelling case of "winning" help instead asking for it. Hugh also show us a hint of why he is known as a Sugar Viscount, we see him making an effort to research when designing his confections and talking to his "client".
