Star Blazers: The Quest for Iscandar Episode 20: The Day Planet Balan's Sun Fell!

This episode has several decisions that I found pretty dumb. The enemy's plan is overly convoluted, and the fact that the Yamato falls for it makes it even harder to take seriously. Desler's actions are probably the biggest offender. Even so, it's still a solid episode overall, with plenty of tense moments that keep it entertaining.

The narrative rhythm is exceptional, perfectly contrasting the absolute panic on the bridge with Captain Okita's calm, calculating brilliance.

The enemy's plan ended a bit anticlimactically, but the battle was still epic. As always, the explosions were beautiful to watch.
