In this episode, the Yamato is stranded for days. I'm not really fond of this one. Kodai felt out of character, seemingly just to create drama with Shima. The episode also feels a bit like filler, with no real action, and the sequence where they navigate through the strait drags on longer than it should.

The submarine-warfare motif works wonderfully here, shifting the usual grand scale of space combat into a claustrophobic, silent cat-and-mouse game where sound and deep-space sonar readings dictate survival.

Decent episode. There weren't many battles, but some moments built good suspense. I did get pretty annoyed with the characters, though.
