In this episode, the Yamato is trapped once again, this time in the Magellanic Stream, which feels a bit repetitive after the previous episode. However, this one doesn't come across as filler because it contains several important plot developments. That said, a few of those plot points feel a little too convenient. Overall, it's a decent episode.

The visual contrast between the bleak isolation of deep space and the lush, vibrant environment of this new world is striking, but the beauty quickly gives way to an eerie sense of paranoia.

It felt like they relied too much on plot armor in this episode. Kodai was also pretty annoying here.
