The smoky lighting, burning lantern visuals, and pounding soundtrack create an intense historical atmosphere. The final Foxfire clue perfectly raises the mystery.

The introduction of Shiun adds a layer of mystery that makes the foxfire conspiracy feel more intelligent and dangerous. The candlelit observatory scenes looked gorgeous, giving the episode a calm but uneasy mood. Hikoya’s interactions with the astronomer’s son also helped humanize the brigade further. The pacing is slower, but the emotional storytelling and historical vibe make this one of the series’ most immersive episodes so far. This episode trades nonstop action for knowledge in atmosphere and character depth, and it works surprisingly well.

While the animation still struggles during crowd movement, the episode’s gritty historical vibe and strong character writing keep it engaging throughout.

I love how Oishin just steps up and takes charge during the evacuation. You really need strong leaders when everything's going up in flames and people are panicking.

My heart stopped when that second bridge bomb went off. It felt like everyone was done for but then the team pulled through for the townspeople. That was intense.

Man, those fox-masked guys just don't quit with the bombs under the bridge. Shinnosuke really had his work cut out for him, but what a hero, kicking that guy straight into the water!

I can't believe the final episode ended with the antagonist basically getting away. After all that buildup, it just felt so anticlimactic.

The animation felt really stiff again this episode. It's a shame because the idea of these firemen is so cool but the execution just wasn't there.

I can't believe how clunky the animation was during the fire escape scene. It almost ruined how impactful Shinnosuke's bravery was.

So the mastermind just gets away in the end that's a pretty unsatisfying wrap up for the villain.

Those fire projectiles falling from the sky were wild. And the blue flame from the zinc dust explosion really caught my attention

So Gengo really got framed and now everyone thinks he’s Kitsunebi, the injustice in this episode is something else.

Man, this episode was a gut punch seeing Gengo's past but his team really stepped up when he was in trouble.
