📖 SYNOPSIS
Everything a martial arts prodigy could ask for — the talent, the potential, a destiny pointed straight at greatness — Ye Yunfei had it all. Then his martial veins just... closed, for no apparent reason. Overnight he goes from gifted to useless, and everyone in his life wastes zero time letting him know it. His family mocks him, his fiancée bails, and rival clans circle like vultures. His father dies in battle, and Ye Yunfei is basically alone in a world that only respects strength he no longer has.
Then a wandering master called the Purple Saint True Lord shows up and sees something in him that everyone else missed. That's where the real story kicks off — this 20-episode ONA set on the Tianxuan Continent is basically a cultivation revenge arc wrapped in some genuinely slick martial arts choreography. The fight scenes blend traditional techniques with supernatural abilities, and the power system has that satisfying depth where you actually want to understand how the cultivation tiers work. The soundtrack leans into traditional Chinese instruments mixed with modern orchestration, which gives the whole thing a distinct atmosphere.
If you liked the dark betrayal-to-power arc in Mo Dao Zu Shi, or the underdog determination in Legend of Fuyao, this hits similar notes but with its own spin on the martial cultivation formula. Fans of The Romance of the Condor Heroes will recognize the master-disciple dynamic that drives the emotional core here. It's a web novel adaptation from studio Xing Yi Kai Chen, and at 20 episodes it doesn't overstay its welcome. The early episodes do a good job making you feel Ye Yunfei's isolation before the redemption path opens up.
