a filler flashback where naruto gets chased around for an entire episode because of some virus nonsense, feels like the writers ran out of ideas and watched a zombie movie instead - the premise is so forced it's almost funny but mostly just drags

The star village ending felt so weird and the humor at the very end did not land well at all but seeing Hayate in the crowd was a nice touch for fans

That final fight with Akahoshi went on for way too long and the pacing of this entire arc was just messy and finishing it means we can finally move on

I think I saw Zabuza and Haku in the background and it made me so confused since they died ages ago and it ruined the whole episode for me because the continuity is just gone

Usually filler feels like a waste but the emotional payoff with Sumaru and his mother actually landed well for once

Naruto not being able to stop Sumaru from lashing out after his mom died was a rare moment where things didn't just work out perfectly

The truth about the star training being a complete lie made the whole arc so much darker and you could really feel the tension when Mizura was exposing the village secrets

I was actually happy to see Sumaru get some closure even if it was through a lot of pain and those other kids were real heroes for stepping up

Sumaru realizing his connection to his mother was severed in an instant made that whole scene feel so heavy and Naruto looked so helpless

The way Mizura almost died just to tell everyone the star training was a lie really saved this whole episode

I know people usually skip the filler, but this Star Guard arc actually had a soul and seeing it end with Sumaru finding out the truth was heavy. My heart broke for him when he felt his mother pass away, and even though Naruto is usually good at talking people down he just couldn't fix this one. It felt like a real tragedy for the kid.

It was heartbreaking when the bond between Sumaru and his mother finally broke, and the way Naruto couldn't find the words to comfort him made it feel more grounded than usual filler

Seeing Hokuto and Mizura risk everything just to tell the truth about that star training really showed how much they care about Sumaru

I felt so bad for Sumaru when he realized his mom was actually gone and Naruto trying to stop him from doing something reckless was just painful to watch

It took a while to get here and while the ending was okay I am ready to see Naruto get back to more important missions

Naruto smashing that purple star with his specialized Rasengan was definitely the best way to handle a villain as obsessed as Akahoshi

The star training plot was a bit slow overall but seeing the kids suffer from the poisoning made it feel more serious than other fillers

I know people say skip the fillers, but this Star Guard Mission arc actually had some heart and seeing Sumaru find closure with his mom was nice. Naruto using the Kujaku-Rasengan was a cool visual change even if it is not canon, and the new ending song by Akeboshi is a nice callback to the start of the show

Akahoshi was such a jerk for trying to use the star power to win, but Naruto breaking it into pieces was a great way to end the fight

Watching all the villagers turn their backs on Akahoshi once they saw the truth felt deserved after everything he put Sumaru through

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 183 serves as the finale of the Star Guard Mission filler arc, resolving the escalating conflicts built across the preceding episodes, including the tension-heavy 'Reunion: The Remaining Time.' With the arc's conclusion here, Episode 184 ('Kiba's Long Day!') pivots away entirely, returning focus to familiar faces from the main cast. At episode 183 of 220, the series is deep into its extended filler stretch before Naruto Shippuden.
