this one leans hard into the emotional farewell between sumaru and natsuhi but the whole hidden star village arc already overstayed its welcome by now, the melodrama hits softer because you're just waiting for it to wrap up, watchable if you're already invested in this filler but nothing you'd miss skipping

I think Sumaru seeing his mom again was actually pretty sad because it is all filler and none of it actually matters for the main story but the music made me feel bad for him anyway

Akahoshi just keeps getting more hateable with every scene and the way he treats his own people is so cold

I felt so bad for Natsuhi during this episode because her chakra network is clearly a mess and she can barely fight anymore, but she still tried everything for Sumaru and the way she had to hand over the star just to keep him safe was such a heavy moment, and then seeing him lose it at the end was just brutal

The hug between Sumaru and his mom was so sweet, even if things went bad with that evil Akahoshi guy

It was so hard watching Natsuhi struggle with her broken chakra while trying to protect Sumaru and that ending with the broken necklace felt so cruel

Akahoshi is a total monster for draining everyone in the village of their power and then holding Sumaru hostage to get what he wanted from Natsuhi

Naruto getting so mad that he could not step in and help the Star Village people really felt like his usual self and my heart went out to him

Flashbacks at the start were kind of annoying but watching Natsuhi give up the star because her son was in danger made the drama worth it

Sumaru realizing Natsuhi actually loves him was so sad and his face when the necklace finally broke really hurt to watch

I hated seeing Akahoshi force Sumaru to almost end his own life just for the star and that guy is genuinely the worst person ever for using a kid like that

Using a kid as a hostage is such a low move and it makes you really want to see Naruto finally ignore Neji and go save Sumaru from that guy

I actually liked the scene where Neji tells Naruto and Lee to stay out of it, because it shows how much he has grown as a leader since the Chunin Exams. The drama between Natsuhi and Sumaru is surprisingly heavy for a filler arc and I was really hoping she would just tell him the truth about being his mother

Seeing Natsuhi get so weak after surrendering the star was tough because you know she is only doing it for Sumaru and Akahoshi is just taking advantage of her kindness

This star arc is definitely dragging on a bit but the drama with Natsuhi and her son is actually keeping me interested even if the fights are not that big yet

Naruto and Lee looked so frustrated that they could not just rush in and punch Akahoshi but Neji is the only one who actually thinks about the mission rules and politics

It was painful watching Sumaru reject his mother without knowing the truth and I just wanted Natsuhi to tell him everything before things got even worse with the star theft situation

It is crazy that using the star chakra jutsu is basically a death sentence and Neji having to explain that to everyone made the stakes feel much higher than usual filler stories

Neji was right to tell Naruto and Lee to stay back because it is a village matter and the fight between Akahoshi and Natsuhi is way too personal for outsiders

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 182 is the penultimate chapter of the Star Guard Mission filler arc, following 'Hoshikage: The Buried Truth,' which exposed Natsuhi's backstory and the lethal consequences of the star training. This episode escalates the emotional and physical stakes surrounding Akahoshi's schemes and directly sets up the arc's conclusion in 'The Star's Radiance.' Sitting at episode 182 of 220, this lands squarely in the long filler stretch that bridges the original series to Shippuden.
