Nine years later and the weight of that one decision is still following Tenma. Junkers muttering about the monster arriving is the perfect hook. Lunge enters the picture and immediately unsettles everything.

9-year time skip! Tenma's chief of surgery now but something is VERY wrong. Lunge enters scariest investigator in anime. "the monster is coming" will echo in your head. OwO

Moves pretty fast and makes the story feel more serious than before. You can clearly see how much Tenma’s life has changed. A 9-year skip, lots of things happened, no suspicions, but you can still feel the tension, and it feels like something bigger is slowly starting to occur.

It reveals about itself but doesn't reveal everything and it shows a level of trust in the viewers to connect the dots. Tenma is already having his own internal conflict within himself and he’s still not sure where his beliefs lie, but he is planting the seeds of responsibility.

Ok... Alright here's my take on this episode.
We all of a sudden are taken 9 years into the future, which I would not have expected lol. One would say its slow but in reality its fast, though it requires your patience, it doesn't give you many room to get up.

I just know that the detectives think Tenma did it, He could be framed for something he knows nothing about. And also This detective really looks like detective Gesiegt from "PLUTO". Other than that, the realism in this anime is topnotch, it might be too much for some to handle.

Episode 3 goes dark… but politely. Several doctors drop out of the career ladder permanently, Tenma’s luck flips overnight, and the hospital suddenly loves him again. Promotion, praise, and absolutely nothing suspicious. Totally normal.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following episode two's professional and personal collapse for Dr. Tenma, 'A Murder' marks the critical pivot point where Monster transitions from medical drama into psychological thriller territory. This is only episode three of seventy-four, meaning it functions as the final piece of the show's elaborate setup — establishing the suspicion, key investigative players, and moral framework that will drive the entire series forward.
