As the saying goes, "sometimes, the universe conspires." It seems that the universe's fateful intervention happened to the boy. But Dr. Tenma made an honorable decision at the worst possible time - of all the time he had to do what is right just became so wrong.

The fallout is swift and merciless. Watching a good man lose everything for doing the right thing is genuinely painful. The final scene with the hospital officials is chilling in how casually it's presented.

Tenma loses everything and stays true anyway. the hospital politics are filthy. stay patient the creepy candy detail at the end tells you exactly where this is going. T^T

Really shows how one's choice can change everything in one's life. It feels heavy but very real, and you can feel the emotions throughout. There’s not much action, but the tensions and moments with the characters really struck me, and you see Tenma slowly starting to collapse.

The plot is becoming more exciting now! Greed as a theme is not depicted as an antagonist but rather as the environment, which I think is the best way to deal with such a theme.

The one thing I noticed is that, the pacing is deliberate, which works because every scene just tenses around Tenma. It’s very stressful in a very realistic way. I would pardon the animation style in this, only because the story really interesting.

All because he chooses not to save the mayor's life he has put his career's development at risk. This episode just tells us that even being human can get you into trouble. Just because you do the opposite of things. This episode is just too real for me.

Episode 2 follows Dr. Kenzo Tenma as his choice reshapes his position at the hospital. Director Heinemann withdraws support, Eva distances herself, and professional isolation replaces stability, turning consequence into constant pressure.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Directly following the premiere's defining moral choice—Tenma saving a boy's life over a political figure's—this episode delivers the immediate personal and professional wreckage of that decision. It deepens Tenma's characterization by showing what he loses, not just what he stood for. The stage is being set for Episode 3, 'A Murder,' suggesting the consequences are about to escalate far beyond career damage into something far more dangerous.
