THIS EPISODE. Johan fully revealed. calm, chatting, executing someone. Scariest villain intro in anime history no debate. Tenma's expression says everything. ABSOLUTE cinema~! <3

Raises the tension as the investigation tightens around a key suspect. Tenma tries to reach a frightened patient who knows more than he’s saying, while Inspector Lunge continues digging into the hospital murders. The atmosphere grows darker as hidden truths start to surface.

What an amazing episode. The voice of Johan can take you by surprise, but the dramatic build up and atmosphere of mystery remain intact. The entire time there was this really creepy and ominous vibe during the last discussion with Johan.

Oh NOW I"M HOOKED. Johan is so menacing but yet, so calm, It really interests me and also the whole moral dilemma of choosing to save a normal person becomes even more interesting with all the questions it raises.
A very beautiful episode, wow. I'll say it It's not comfortable

i am curious as to who could be this 'Monster' they mentioned, Waw it was Johan, how did he manage to do what he did back then in episode one. He basically left no trace. Does he have some super power or some crazy backing?

This episode is at first a slow burn for me. But man oh man! When Tenma's past came to haunt him and decided to appear in front of him it totally gets exciting... You'll think of all the possibilities of how's and why's on this one.

Episode 4 lets the unease breath. Johan appears calm and unsettling, Tenma grows increasingly alarmed, and the story makes it clear that politeness and menace can coexist very efficiently. Nothing explodes: everything chills.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following episode 3's escalation of mysterious deaths surrounding Dr. Tenma, 'Night of the Execution' serves as the early series' first true turning point — the moment consequences become irreversible and the central mystery locks into place. This is episode 4 of 74, meaning it functions as the closing beat of Monster's opening act before the narrative expands significantly into 'The Girl of Heidelberg' and the wider web of characters and conspiracies that define the series.
