Magical Warfare

The finale here is a mess. It feels way too rushed, it drop threads that were build around a whole season, and the time skip was not even necessary, it raises more questions rather than answers. The character writing falls apart here. This is the kind of ending that makes the whole season feel incomplete. I was so disappointed here.

This is actually a somewhat decent episode. I can feel the urgency here and the stakes feel more personal. Kurumi getting her own spotlight in this ep was handled better than expected. The action at the Ghost Trailer's HQ is tense and the pacing was good.

Sending Takeshi to an all girls school to recover is pretty odd. His mother training him was fine but the setup around it drags. The episode feels like it's stalling before the final stretch. Nothing much happens that couldn't have been covered in half the time.

I think the Second Great Magic War was supposed to be a big moment but the episode didn't quite sell it. The threat here feels a bit abstract and the group's reaction lacks urgency. There is some decent action and the tension does build toward the end, but the ep struggles to make the scale of what's happening feel real.

The new student subplot here feels a bit too rushed and the episode tried to do too much at once. The darker side of Wizard Brace keeps getting hinted here and even though it was interesting it was dropped as fast as it was raised. This was an uneven ep, it has some good in bad.

The nightmare sequence here is a good touch and does some decent work on Takeshi's character. The life or death situation that follows is okay but the pacing around it was bad. This ep was a mix of good character moments under a messy flow.

The pacing here is somewhat decent. The rescue mission here gives the episode a clear goal and the action here is more engaging than the past eps. The animation also steps up here during the fight scenes. And the writing here is better, the characters finally feel like a team for once.

This is probably one of the worst eps I have ever watched. The magic exam in concept was good but how it was done was bad. Kurumi's jealousy was ridiculously annoying. The pacing here drags and the episode ends without leaving an impression.

The character writing is improving in this episode, seeing Mui go after her brother adds some emotional weight and the world building gets interesting as the show goes on. Ida also gets a decent moment in this ep. Though the pacing is still a bit slow and the emotional impact doesn't really hit that much, it is better than the previous ones.

The episode here starts to lose focus. The training scenes are okay but the subplots here feels forced, and even Kurumi's jealousy over Mui is getting repetitive and annoying. The characters doesn't really develop as much and the pacing was slow and nothing important happens in this ep.

The Battle of Pendragon is pure adrenaline, and Madhouse cooked the high-speed sword action. Takeshi going all out to protect the squad pure hype. The cliffhanger at the end of the finale is crazy.

I appreciate the world building here, the Ruined World gets more screen time here and it is really interesting. This Ruined World was like a distorted version of Tokyo that is frozen in time. The pacing here is decent and I like the setup for the magic school. The characters here still feel a bit surface level and they don't have any remarkable traits imo.

The massive clash looks amazing and the animation for the fight is good too. The pacing is great. The finale is going to be wild.

This was not a bad start but it was also not great either. The setup feels like a generic isekai with a little bit of world building. The pacing is fast and is not boring but the character writing here feels bland and thin. Even the dialogue here was awkward and doesn't interest me that much.

In this episode the academy's defensive barriers completely shattering turns the school into a brutal warzone. Takeshi pushing his sword style to the literal brink is pure hype. Another good episode.

The invasion by the Ghost Trailers is pure hype, and watching the defensive barriers shatter gives us tension. Takeshi holding the frontline is phenomenal and have good pacing.

This episode has insane lore. Finding out that Wizard Brace has a dark history changes everything. The historical flashbacks look great and add political depth to the wizard war.

The characters actually have to work for their power scaling this gives the fight a lot more weight. The animation style during the test sequence looked great and kept things super engaging. Good episode.

The street ambush sequence has fantastic pacing and great magical effects. The squad pushing their powers to the limit before hitting the recovery bays adds good survival lore.

Takeshi, Mui, and Ida crushing their practical tests looks great. Kurumi turning into a literal baby from a romantic misunderstanding is just wild.
