EPISODE REVIEWS

The character writing is improving in this episode, seeing Mui go after her brother adds some emotional weight and the world building gets interesting as the show goes on. Ida also gets a decent moment in this ep. Though the pacing is still a bit slow and the emotional impact doesn't really hit that much, it is better than the previous ones.

In this episode, the peace at the academy completely shatters when a threat from Mui's past arrives at the gates, forcing Takeshi and the squad to do a defensive battle.

Episode 4 raises the series beyond typical magical action, turning it into a moving character drama. It's a must‑watch to grasp Mui's motivations.
