Leer and Guoguo
Oshimeter
Synopsis
On Green Island, a flower delivery boy named Guoguo lives a life about as heroic as it sounds. He spends his days daydreaming about being something more, until he stumbles across the Dragon Wing — an artifact that basically drafts him into becoming the next Dragon Rider whether he's ready or not. Spoiler: he's not. With an ancient evil called the Black Governor crawling back into the picture with a whole dark army in tow, Guoguo has to figure out how to go from "guy who delivers roses" to "guy who saves an entire island" real fast. This is a Chinese ONA that pulls from mythology and wraps it in a comedic, lighthearted tone with some romance mixed in. The vibe is somewhere between an underdog hero origin story and a fantasy comedy where the protagonist is clearly in over his head. Think of it like if Go! Go! Loser Ranger! leaned more into fantasy worldbuilding, or if Good Luck! Ninomiya-kun swapped its premise for dragons and destiny. There's also a bit of that reluctant-hero energy you'd get from something like A Herbivorous Dragon of 5,000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized, where the comedy comes from the gap between who the character is and who they're supposed to be. It's a pretty easy watch — nothing too heavy, solid for when you want something fun with a fantasy adventure backbone and a protagonist you can root for without taking things too seriously.
