Kuroko's Basketball
Oshimeter
Synopsis
You could be standing right next to Tetsuya Kuroko and never notice him. Literally, his whole thing is being invisible. In middle school, he was the secret sixth member of the "Generation of Miracles," five basketball prodigies so dominant they got bored of winning. Now in high school, those five have split up across rival teams, and Kuroko has landed at Seirin, a scrappy, relatively new program with zero prestige. His partner is Taiga Kagami, a powerhouse recently back from the U.S. who has the raw talent but needs direction. Together, they're out to take down each of Kuroko's former teammates one by one. The 25-episode first season is a lot about building Seirin's identity as a team while establishing just how absurdly gifted each Generation of Miracles player is. The basketball here isn't realistic. these guys pull off moves that border on superpowers, but that's part of the appeal. Every match feels like a boss fight with its own rhythm and stakes. Production I.G handles the animation, and the court sequences are genuinely fluid and intense, backed by a soundtrack that knows exactly when to hit. If you liked Haikyuu for the team dynamics but want something with a more shonen battle feel, this is your lane. Fans of Slam Dunk will appreciate the basketball roots, though the tone here is more stylized. It's youthful, it's competitive, and the Kuroko-Kagami dynamic carries the whole thing with a quiet confidence that grows on you.

i love it
The comedy at the beginning was so good! Especially after the match from before. Ah Nigō, my baby has appeared! Taiga's fear is so cute! The whole interaction between Momoi & Kuroko really help set up what the next few episodes will be growing about!

And so the season ended with a matchdown thats not the main characters. Anime nowadays does not have what it takes to setup characters like this to have a hype battle like that without the main characters.
Kuroko Basket success is having the ability to make you care about side team more than other sports anime do. Character like Kisewho i relate to a lot makes it easy to root for. And as always Kuroko basket has the ability to make you hype.
Like DBZ with basketball. I think the best thing that this series has is when "normal players" compete with this superhuman basketball players like Kuroko, Kagami, Murasakibara, etc.
The Finale is here!!! With both of their heads firmly in the game, Kise and Daiki show their skills and their true style s of basketball. While the end of the match was expected in a way, I still enjoyed the way it ended! We get a glimpse of the remaining GOM members! A great end to this season!!
The penultimate episode! Kise shocks everyone! Kuroko and Kise's conversation really does shed more light on his motivations. It's jam-packed, emotional and yet inspiring! His skill is nothing to scoff at!
Kise backstory time! Their shared history serving as fuel for Kise, the match heats up! A battle of wills and skills between Kise and Daiki! Both teams, even without their respective GOM members are strong and that make the match so much more fun!
Continuation of the training episodes! Kagami and Kuroko are still trying to find their styles; the passion and the drive Seirin show to improve really makes it for me! Midorima being their revelation fairy was interesting too, he really does respect the both of them. The Inter-High match was interesting too!!
The summer training camp episode is here!! A staple in sports animes!! The youthful energy! Also not Taiga and Kuroko bickering, they're getting closer! Hyuga eating all of Riko's cooking cause she worked so hard on it (RIP). Honestly, super great training montage, more of a filler episode but still worth to watch. The surprise practice match was nice too.
We find out Teppei was pretty good before his accident, many knew of him. After Hyuga and Kuroko's conversation, I again realised that sometimes sports animes, really stroke my shoujo heart. The pure spirits! The teenage angst! This took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. The end was heartwarming though.
The episode started out so heavy, and honestly stayed heavy for around half the episode. Teppei really did not strike me to be as he is, personality & looks wise, LOL! Also Taiga and Kuroko both being in slumps really sucks, especially the way the both of them are handling it..
Damn, the way the stakes are continually stacked against Seirin in this match, Kuroko's decision makes perfect sense. Also Taiga's growth being compared as abnormal, even by the other GOM's really hammers it in. It was really sad seeing Kuroko down like that for awhile though. The outcome of the match became obvious, yet I kept believing, even if it seemed impossible.
Daiki joins the fray! As bad his personality might be, he is a true Ace, and his play reflects it. It's interesting to see Kuroko's determination in beating Aomine, because you wouldn't expect him to be so passionate, yet he is. The pacing of the match really does go on a rollercoaster, especially from the 2nd half. Tense and the stakes are stacked!
The match starts off intense straightaway, with Touōu. Later the way in which the team functions is showcased, it makes sense now on why Daiki goes there. Calling themselves the "Opening Act" was not cool with how strong they are. Momoi really does live up to the fandom established rep of an honorary GOM. Also, Taiga really developing as a team player!
Damn, Daiki really is kinda an a-hole huh? This episode really explains the relationship between Daiki and Kuroko, the old and new light of the shadow, huh? The symbolism with Taiga is also heavy as a parallel. The episode starts, and ends quite nicely.
Kuroko and Taiga really had me holding my breath! The plays, coordination, argh!! So good! The match Shūtoku thought to be easy-winnings became so much more difficult than they expected, and honestly the way the match was so unexpected! My emotions are all over the place, damn it!
The first half had us all tense but the 2nd half really amped it up! My heart couldn't take it! Kagami's a beast! The way the narrative kinda builds up though, it honestly shifts your emotions. Theparallels between Taiga & the GOM was hinted at before but now it really shows how similar yet different they are.
The back and forth between Seirin & Shutoku, Takao and Kuroko, is really interesting to see as a viewer, to see Kuroko like that. The stakes are stacked, the pressure is high! Also the running gag of Kagami trying to speak politely is never not gonna be funny to me, lol!
