The initial way you meet the club members is funny. Pacing starts slow but kicks up in the second half. Kuroko being unnoticed really piques your interest in him, and becomes funny the more it happens. The main cast’s motivations and personalities are revealed early, which makes it easy to understand them.

It got me hooked right from the start, the way Koganei and Izuki were advertising the basketball club’s registrations is so awkwardly funny. The animation is really smooth for a sports anime, especially Kagami’s stern expressions.

Dang, what a strong start this episode is, intense right from the beginning with the 2 first year students. It’s just me, but when Kuroko asked Taiga for a 1v1, I couldn’t stop laughing. This is a great pilot episode, interesting, with solid animation.

Really solid first ep, got me hooked right away! The animation and visuals totally nail the sports vibe, and the character designs look sharp. The pacing is still chill, mostly introducing the characters and their goals as basketball players. 10/10
