This calm episode about a chocolate date is really sweet and touching. It shows simple, wholesome moments from getting ready for the day to sharing the chocolate.

Cuma agak kecewa saja sama akhirannya 😢

Sawada’s efforts here are absolutely delightful. The warm atmosphere in the lead up to the long awaited day makes the storyline feel more grounded and makes us even more eager to reach the big day. The plot is well structured and told in a relaxed tone, yet the warmth of the relationships between the characters never wanes. The quotes are lovely too, always memorable. I’m quite moved by the little details.

Episode Context

A Valentine's Day episode that leans fully into the warmth and nervous energy of expressing affection through small, handmade gestures. Expect a gentle, introspective pace as the cast navigates the emotional weight of something as simple as giving chocolate to someone you care about. Hori's insecurity about her baking, made sharper by Miyamura's family literally running a confectionery, gives the episode its emotional anchor, grounding a universal holiday premise in character-specific stakes. Alongside the central couple, a subplot involving Sawada helping a classmate with a secret crush adds a sweet secondary layer. The tone stays cozy and sincere throughout, prioritizing vulnerability and quiet moments of courage over comedy or drama. This is comfort-food anime at its most earnest, intimate, unhurried, and emotionally authentic.
