Horimiya: The Missing Pieces
Oshimeter
Synopsis
If you walked away from Horimiya wishing you could just hang out with those characters a little longer, that's basically what this is. Horimiya: Piece is a 13-episode TV series that revisits Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura, the popular girl hiding her home life and the quiet loner covered in piercings and tattoos, along with their whole friend group at Katagiri High School. But instead of retelling the main romance, this fills in the gaps. The missing pieces, literally. It's structured around smaller moments: the dumb jokes between classes, the awkward group hangouts, the quiet conversations that don't move the plot forward but make you care about everyone more. The vibe is warm and unhurried, like flipping through a yearbook with someone and stopping to laugh at every other photo. CloverWorks handles the animation again, and the character work still looks great, expressive faces, soft color palette, all the things that made the original feel cozy. If you liked Toradora or Kimi ni Todoke for the way they balanced romance with genuine friendship dynamics, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU's character-driven approach will also find a lot to appreciate here. Fair warning though, if you haven't seen the original Horimiya, start there first. This one assumes you already know and love these people. It's less about where the story goes and more about savoring where it's been.

This episode has a peaceful ending that feels nice. It would be even better if they show the beach vacation. Overall, it's a good recap of the series, though it made me a little sad.
This episode is really fun! It shows some funny family moments with Hori and her family, and Izumi is part of the story too. It’s a light and enjoyable watch with lots of cute and funny sibling scenes.
This calm episode about a chocolate date is really sweet and touching. It shows simple, wholesome moments from getting ready for the day to sharing the chocolate.
This fun episode about Izumi and Hori shows the ups and downs of their friendship with lots of humor. Their friends are also in the episode, making everything more lively and entertaining. It’s a light and cheerful episode that makes you smile while enjoying their cute and funny moments.
This episode is really funny and shows Mr. Yasuda's wild imagination. I like the way he connects with his students. It’s a fun watch that makes you smile!
This episode is nice and calming. It focuses on Yanagi having fun with his friends at school. No big surprises, just good moments with friends.
This episode is a calm and cozy watch. It shows the characters bonding and sharing their feelings. Also shows some of school struggles, with wholesome support to overcome it.
This episode was really good, especially focusing on Sengoku. The sleepover part was the funniest and made me laugh a lot. Overall, a fun and entertaining episode to watch!
Seeing this couple at the start of the episode was so funny, they look absolutely adorable. The way the flashbacks are presented really moved me. It's truly heart warming and leaves a lasting impression. Their story feels very realistic, with frustration and miscommunication forming a solid foundation. The visuals are lovely too, and perfectly capture the essence of adolescence. The ending was exactly as I'd expected too. However, I really hope there will be another series because this one is so worthwhile and meaningful.
This episode is relaxing and fun, showing Shuu in a funny and unexpected situation. His friends are also having a good time. Fun to watch.
