Episode 9 is a solid entry in the series. The introduction of Mecha-6 adds another chaotic element to an already crowded cast, but the episode manages to keep its focus on what works: Ryusei and Hanaori's growing relationship. The school festival setting provides good opportunities for the supporting cast, and the ghost fight delivers action and emotional payoff in equal measure. It's not the strongest episode, but it's consistently entertaining.

The way Ryusei is terrified of ghosts but Mietia just decks the giant skull demon and starts crying afterwards. That dynamic is perfect. Also her tearing her bun in half to share with him on the street corner might be the softest moment in the whole series so far
