GRAND BLUE DREAMING SEASON 3 HAS NO VOTE THIS WEEK
Synopsis
Arriving at college expecting a normal life, Iori Kitahara instead ended up in a diving club where nobody actually dives, but they just drink mysterious unlabeled beverages and wake up naked on the floor. Two seasons of that chaos later, and now this crew is going international. Grand Blue Season 3 takes Iori, his otaku best friend Kouhei, his perpetually disappointed cousin Chisa, and the rest of the Peek-a-Boo diving club to Palau for their first overseas trip. The early episodes set up exactly what you'd expect: a group of degenerate college students who can barely function domestically now trying to represent their club in a foreign country. It goes about as well as you'd think. The thing that makes Grand Blue work is that it commits fully to the bit. The comedy is genuinely unhinged: faces contort into nightmare fuel, drinks glow colors that shouldn't exist in nature, and Iori's dignity takes a beating every single episode. But underneath the chaos, there's actual character development and some genuinely beautiful underwater scenes when they do manage to get in the water. If you liked Prison School's shameless energy or the absurd social dynamics of Arakawa Under the Bridge, this is your kind of show. It's a seinen comedy that understands college life is mostly just bad decisions made with people you'll somehow remember fondly. The Palau setting just raises the stakes on how far those bad decisions can go.

rauru★★★★☆EP 6Aina tackling Kouhei directly into the wall when he asked Iori if he wanted to sleep with her was so fast and violent. Cakey's reactions this episode were top tier
ein★★★★☆EP 6Believing that guys die from exploding crotches after two weeks of no action is classic Grand Blue brainrot. Maki really started the most chaotic rumor ever
todoroki_twin★★★★☆EP 6Watching Iori and Kouhei assume the girls were pitying their size instead of saving them from exploding was absolute comedy gold
giorno_giovanna_197★★★☆☆EP 6Kouhei trying to play wingman with that creepy wink and card reading had me rolling. Poor Cakey is never going to survive this trip at this rate
isa★★★☆☆EP 6I actually really liked that quiet scene on the dock where Aina and Chisa talked about admiring each other, but then the boys showing up with red glowing eyes ruined the wholesome mood in the funniest way possible. Grand Blue always knows how to turn a tender moment right back into complete madness
reirei★★★★☆VerifiedEP 6This was a good episode. There were a lot of funny scenes, but the wholesome moments made this so much better. Although the cluelessness of the girls might have been the highlight of this episode, lol.
katana★★★★☆VerifiedEP 6This was so chaotic, but I loved this episode, surprisingly. The second half was definitely the best, and I loved that wholesome moment between the girls. It was such a nice contrast to all the chaos.
sandaime★★★★☆VerifiedEP 6This was really entertaining in a way that felt so simple but definitely crazy. I liked whatever's wrong with Kohei, lol. T^T Also, Chisa and Aina's dynamics here were so chaotic. I loved watching them!
trenborous★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 6Am I the only one who thinks season 3 feels kinda off? I've been watching grand blue since season 1, and the first thing i noticed about season 3 was the animation. It just doesn't feel as expressive anymore. the facial expressions aren't nearly as funny, and some scenes feel kinda stiff. the animation just doesn't have the same energy or personality that made seasons 1 and 2 so enjoyable to watch I'm guessing it's because of the studio change. i totally get that, but i really miss how lively seasons 1 and 2 looked. I'm still gonna watch it because it's grand blue, but i definitely prefer the old animation style

haillordfrieza★★★★☆VerifiedEP 5Kohei was lowkey sweet in this episode.
queen_nehelenia★★★☆☆EP 5That opening scene where Kohei calls out Chisa about her feelings for Iori set the mood, her turning bright red and running away was adorable
daemon_coder★★★★☆EP 5Aai drinking Spiritus thinking it was water made me laugh out loud and her reaction when Ikegoshi described crab as plain potatoes was incredible
levi_lance★★★★☆EP 5Kohei wearing a shirt with no pants and claiming he followed orders because his upper body was covered had the producer going insane and you can never predict what this show will do next
vicious_179★★★★☆EP 5Using a voice actress soundboard to trick Kohei into giving dramatic food reviews and jumping off a balcony is pure grand blue chaos and you gotta love how absurd it got
kido_knight★★★★☆EP 5I lost my mind when I realized Kohei and Ikegoshi share the same voice actor and watching him act as his own body double made the entire TV shoot gag ten times funnier
master_kohga★★★★☆EP 5I went into this expecting the usual naked Kohei shenanigans, but finding out he was secretly ruining Iori's date with Aai to protect Aina was actually so sweet. He still acts like a total degenerated idiot during the filming shoot, but that tiny moment of secret wingman loyalty at night made me appreciate him so much
eri_359★★★☆☆EP 5Throwing pure Spiritus on an open flame to put out a fire is the most grand blue mistake ever and then watching Iori casually smother it with his shirt was so funny
reirei★★★★★VerifiedEP 5This was definitely an entertaining episode. Kohei carried this one. I love whatever's wrong with his character, lmao. The ending scene was really cute, though.
