This is where the anime's themes really start locking in. The tattoo thing was great, and the episode does a great job making the world feel dangerous. Ogata’s introduction alone adds a nasty edge that keeps the series from ever feeling "safe".

A quite interesting development when it come to the story with the right amount of informations like the involvement of the 7th Army division to keep me want to watch and see how it will end up. Beside that there aren't many big things happening in this episode so 8/10 I think

Things pick up quickly with more tension and world-building. The pacing feels solid, and the mix of survival and mystery keeps it still engaging. Loving the comedic scenes as well to balance everything out hahaha.

This puzzle/mystery story vibe is enticing. Another worthwhile watch that builds on the mystery treasure storyline. Great action mixed with the lovable buddy duo of Sugimoto and Asirpa. The villain tease got me leaning forward. Honestly Asirpa alone is worth it, CUTE!

Detailed survival graphics show off the Ainu culture. Asirpa teaching Sugimoto how to eat "citatap" is the peak moment. This episode feels like a cooking show mixed with a thriller.

Things that I noticed so much from this episode is: the worldbuilding, the way we're introduced into so many Anui cultures is actually very charming. Also, the comedic moments and the brief scene of the duo eating in the woods in Anui ways during their hunt were very refreshing!!

You learn a lot about Ainu culture in this episode. Asirpa as a Hunter and Sugimoto as the ruthless soldier, they make a great pair in this episode. Their dynamic is wholesome, as Sugimoto takes on the weight of killing instead of Asirpa who is young.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1 established the Ainu gold premise and forged the Sugimoto-Asirpa partnership; 'Nopperabo' builds directly on that foundation by expanding the world and introducing rival players who will define the season's conflicts. This is a critical second episode that transitions from setup to active pursuit, laying groundwork for the multi-faction power struggle that escalates through the remaining ten episodes. It locks in the show's identity — part survival adventure, part historical mystery, part cultural deep-dive — and signals the complexity ahead.
