A good episode; we closely follow the adventure in the city where the rain never seems to stop, with peaks of action, excitement, stakes, and the occasional steamy moment. Entertaining to watch, with a balanced pace and canon within the story.

The writing and characters are holding up great but the animation during the last couple of episodes felt incredibly lazy during the action scenes. Hopefully, it’s just a temporary dip because they're hoarding the budget for the major fights coming up.

The suggestion of wagering kumi for gamble got me laughing my rips. I love this episode.

Episode Context

Positioned at the one-third mark of this 12-episode run, 'The Drifting Spear' follows the events of 'Long Rain Village' and pivots from environmental world-building toward Jiro's personal arc and the introduction of a key enigmatic figure. This encounter directly sets the stage for the upcoming 'Test of Strength,' making it a critical connective episode that bridges early setup with the escalating challenges of the season's middle stretch.
