Batou's solo Berlin episode was a mood. the slower pace let us see his softer side. the Wings of Desire homage was beautifully done. the atmosphere in that city felt heavy and reflective. Batou really cares more than he lets on and this ep showed that.

While in Berlin, Batou ends up interacting with a young girl in a wheelchair, and that relationship ends up being the emotional center of the whole episode. It's unusual, international in setting, and more intimate in focus than you'd expect.

this episode hit different. watching batou try to be the good guy while knowing he couldn't save everyone? the weight of his choice at the end was heavy. the berlin setting felt gray and cold, matching the mood. the way he just walked away while the girl held onto that toy? 💔
