Good continuity from the last episode to this one. I don't even mind that this episode is still just all Kiritsugu. His past is that interesting and it helps you understand him more.

The setting is much more intense now. Couldn't have asked for a better character to build our boy up through it all. Still, what a twist at the end. But like in the last episode, you'd just understand his reasoning asap on why he did it.

Episode Context

Continuing directly from Episode 5's 'Distant Memories,' this is the second part of a crucial flashback arc that pauses the present-day Grail War to build out Kiritsugu's origin story. These back-to-back character episodes represent the emotional core of the season, contextualizing every cold decision he's made up to this point. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into 'Return of the Assassin,' where the narrative snaps back to the present with a far deeper understanding of its protagonist.
