the episode leans too heavily on an underpowered character to carry dramatic weight it is not equipped to bear. the frustration is less about what happens and more about the sense that the story is running in place waiting for its pieces to realign.

the new manager character is so genuinely hilarious and adorable that i was not prepared for how much i would enjoy his energy. some comedy in the middle of all this tension is honestly very welcome at this point

i am genuinely scared for how this situation resolves because the plan being set up here is full of holes that any intelligent person could see through instantly. this is a frustrating lane for the story to be stuck in right now.

Truly an unexpected move from all the characters. Each of them are taking the game seriously centered all at Kira. Now, who's gonna win?

It's starting to get intense! Oh naur, I think that's not a good move. L might suspect Misa again

The buildup and tension never faded away, so is the animation and dialogue. There’s always something more that keeps us on edge.

Through Misa’s interview, the plot unfolds. Misa revealed the identity of Kira among the Yotsuba group with the help of Rem. Later, she went rogue to clarify her testimony and finally succeeded in her pursuit. But the real question remains - “Will it be enough to convince L?”

Misa being used as part of the investigation was a great move on L's part, but Rem joining the narrative again for me hype!!
I really did miss the Shinigami in this story! Learning more about Misa and Yotsuba group this episode while Light questions Kira's identity more.

This episode is a thrilling strategic showdown as L uses Misa Amane to uncover which Yotsuba executive is Kira. Each suspect’s actions are scrutinized, building intense suspense. The corporate setting adds high stakes, making every move critical in the hunt for Kira.

Light’s plan really feels like it’s falling perfectly into place here. Everything lines up almost too smoothly. Misa, She’s seriously bold — the way she acts without hesitation just makes the whole situation even more intense.

The tension is finally reaching a breaking point. Seeing the task force actually use a fake TV program to trap the Yotsuba Kira was genius. Watching Higuchi panic and try to kill everyone while driving like a madman was so intense.

Higuchi is the least credible character in this arc — he is nowhere near as motivated as Light by his god-like delusions. He has so much confidence, he makes plans and is so far in front of everyone else he isn't panicking at all but already ten moves ahead again.

Misa's actually pulls her weight here. Higuchi making his move on her is creepy but the way it all backfires is satisfying lol. not the most action heavy but moves the plot forward 👁️

Finally the trap is back again, finally pickign up after a few mid episodes

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting past the halfway mark at episode 21 of 37, 'Performance' continues the Yotsuba Group investigation thread that gained significant traction in the preceding episode 'Makeshift,' where key connections between the corporation and Kira were being pursued. This episode functions as a critical middle chapter, advancing the web of deception and positioning pieces for episode 22, 'Guidance,' where the consequences of these machinations begin to crystallize.
