the trap being constructed is a satisfying return to the show's core strength of methodical strategic planning. after several slower installments the renewed focus on precise cause and effect is welcome. there are still a lot of episodes left to go.

the concern i have for certain characters right now is just sitting in my chest throughout this entire episode. watching things finally start to move after the slower stretch we just went through feels genuinely good though. tense in the best way

things are FINALLY moving again and i am so relieved. i have been sitting here worried about specific characters for several episodes and this episode doesn't make that better but at least something is actually happening now. finally.

Episode Context

Positioned at episode 22 of 37, 'Guidance' sits at the critical midpoint of the Yotsuba arc, building directly on 'Performance' where Misa's infiltration identified Higuchi as the prime Kira suspect. This episode transitions from intelligence gathering into active strategy, laying the precise groundwork for 'Frenzy,' where the team's plan reaches its explosive climax. It's an essential bridge episode that converts earlier setup into focused, high-stakes action.
