The episode opens with a whispered memory: Yuru’s father guides him through a hidden tunnel, a secret passage connecting their isolated village to the world beyond. He speaks of the watchful Sayu-sama deities, a reverence that foreshadows what is to come. In the present, those deities manifest as the imposing Right and Left, saving Yuru from strange flying machines the modern world calls helicopters. Right, boisterous and eager, immediately pledges his loyalty, while Left observes with silent intensity.

The attack on the village is personified by Gabu, a young girl with a sinister, floating Tsugai made of eyes and jaws. She taunts Yuru's group, knowing his name and casually confirming her involvement in the village's destruction. Yuru’s face hardens with anger, but he refuses to command his new Tsugai, seeing them as guardians, not servants. He asks Right to protect the villagers and requests Gabu be left to him, a surprising display of his own burgeoning authority.

While Yuru confronts Gabu, another attacker, cloaked in shadow, brutally strikes down the Village Elder. He speaks of unforgiven sins, delivering cold, merciless justice to the peaceful community. Right leaps into action, honoring Yuru's request to protect any survivors, clearing the village walls in a single, powerful bound. He is a force of nature, moving with a speed that even Gabu acknowledges.

Right surveys the devastation, gathering terrified children and seeing a small girl crying over an unconscious woman. Amidst the chaos, he notices the Man in Black deliberately sparing children while systematically killing adults. Their eyes meet, and Right senses a chilling, calculated purpose behind this killer's actions. This is not mere violence; it is a grim, methodical culling.

Back on the cliff, Left defends against Gabu's monstrous Tsugai, while Yuru supports her with a precise arrow. A massive blast of shadow energy from the Man in Black shakes the ground, and through the dust, a girl identical to Yuru's sister, Asa, appears, her expression tired and sad. Yuru learns his Asa is a fake, a substitute planted by the elders ten years ago to maintain a bloodline, leaving him shattered by the depth of the village's betrayal.

Dera urges a stunned Yuru to flee as the village's magical barrier begins to reseal. Right and Left rejoin him, understanding the need for escape. They sprint past bewildered hikers, symbols of the normal world, and meet Hana, Dera’s colleague, with her waiting SUV. Exhausted and overwhelmed, Yuru enters the modern vehicle, leaving his destroyed past behind.

Back at the village ruins, Jin, a calculating man in a trench coat, arrives with a rescue team. He finds the real Asa injured but resolute, confirming Yuru's escape with powerful Tsugai. Jin expresses frustration, realizing Yuru and his guardians are more formidable than anticipated. He laments not bringing his own 'children,' his resolve fixed on capturing the 'Twin of the Night and Day.'

As Hana drives, Yuru stares blankly at the changing landscape, his mind reeling from the day's events. Suddenly, the ethereal Oshira-sama, a glowing white horse and rider, appears alongside the car, recognized as an 'old friend' by Right and Left. She blesses Yuru's journey, then vanishes as quickly as she arrived. Hana explains to a bewildered Yuru that Tsugai exist in a vast hierarchy, from simple monsters to powerful deities, placing his own companions at the highest echelon.

The real Asa, still injured, reflects on Yuru's 'hunter's mentality' and the strength he displayed. She knows their paths will cross again, and the stakes will be higher next time. As night falls, Hana's SUV approaches the glittering lights of a distant city, a new and alien world for Yuru. Right and Left remain vigilant on the roof, their eyes glowing in the dark, as Yuru's sheltered life ends and his true quest begins.
