More world building here but it’s actually kinda interesting. You learn how the Claymore org works and Clare picks up a travel buddy. hahahaha not much action on this EP, more setup, but it builds well. Still a must watch.

Seeing how Clare reacted in this episode really intrigued me to her character. The author did well on making Clare cold enough to have Raki as her foil, but human enough for us to understand her. The little flashback was also appreciated, as it give more light on who Clare is.

Episode 2 is what transforms Claymore from a standard action show into a character-driven tragedy. It raises the stakes by showing that the biggest threat Clare faces isn't just the monsters outside, but the monster growing inside her.
