Taichi's speech about why he keeps playing despite losing completely stole the spotlight of the episode. The character writing is so good, which makes us root for this club.

The humor here was kind of comedy and not easy going by searching a new member for the club. As chihaya doing her best to be more broad in skills as a team.

It's a well-established fact at this point that Taichi is doing this for Chihaya, but it was truly heartwarming to know that he's doing karuta because he enjoys it for himself. Also that scene with Komano was extremely poignant for a side character, how well done!

Episode Context

Arriving at episode 7 of 25, this installment continues the club-building phase that defined recent episodes, following Kanade Ōe's recruitment by bringing Tsutomu Komano into the fold and fleshing out the team dynamic. It serves as a crucial character-deepening bridge between early recruitment efforts and the competitive challenges that lie ahead. The groundwork laid here, individual motivations, interpersonal tensions, the meaning of dedication, will pay dividends as the Mizusawa karuta club moves toward its first real tests as a unit.
