Recruiting new members is always fun, but the compromise they reach for the club makes it even better. Traditional clothing adds such a beautiful visual charm.

I liked this episode by giving me the total package of the history, culture and even the Japanese tradition. the characters also loved the vibe of being warmth in other.

I loved how they went and discussed some poems, it's such a treat to be educated about Japanese literature while enjoying. Kana's reason for wanting to join was self-serving, but I understand her thought process. The river scene was also animated spectacularly 10/10

Wow, this episode is packed with such a wholesome vibe, it really shows Chihaya falling even more in love with karuta, and honestly it got me interested too! The new character, Kana, really brings a big boost to the episode. 9/10

I feel like we, as an audience also gained an understanding here about Karuta along with Chihaya, which makes us fall in love with the sport too. I really like the new character, as she provided a new perspective on Karuta. The plot also slowly progressing along, which is great!

adding a third member shifts the group dynamic in a good way, the writing finally has more room to breathe. the club-in-vain framing is a nice running gag that supports the underdog tone of the arc.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 6 continues the club-building phase that kicked off after Chihaya and Taichi reunited and committed to forming a competitive karuta team, with episode 5 establishing the uphill battle of recruitment. Kanade's introduction here adds a crucial new dimension — both as a character and as a thematic counterpoint to Chihaya's athletic approach to the game. This directly feeds into the next episode, which pushes the recruitment process further and begins shaping the team dynamics that will define the rest of the season.
