im honestly so happy to finally see arata back again. the emotional reunion between everyone just hit so incredibly hard. i am kind of nervous about all of this turning into a massive romance drama though because i really just like the focus on their friendships lowkey.

This episode was so incredibly intense and im not talking about the actual matches. The duration is normal but it literally felt ten times longer just because of how heavy everything was. The drama is getting so wild outside of the game right now it is insane.

Episode Context

Positioned at the four-fifths mark of the season, episode 20 arrives after the team-focused tournament arcs and pivots toward the individual stakes that will define the final stretch. Taichi and Chihaya's separate struggles here deepen their personal arcs and establish the emotional groundwork for the season's closing episodes. It serves as a necessary bridge, the competitive pressure isn't gone, but the battlefield has shifted inward.
