Cardfight!! Vanguard: Divinez Parallactic Clash
Oshimeter
Synopsis
In the ordinary town of Kaga, Akina Myodo's life gets upended when the whole place gets swallowed by thick fog and a massive tower appears out of nowhere. They're calling it the Fantasma. And on nights when the moon turns crimson, certain people transform into something called Fantôme, which is about as ominous as it sounds. Akina and his friends get pulled into this whole situation and end up fighting their way through it using strategic card battles that are somehow tied to the town's supernatural mess. The setup here is genuinely intriguing: it's not just "play cards to win tournaments." The battles are woven into this eerie, fog-drenched mystery where the stakes feel personal and the atmosphere does a lot of heavy lifting. Kinema Citrus is co-producing, so the visual side should be in good hands. If you grew up on Yu-Gi-Oh and liked the idea of card games with real-world consequences but wanted something moodier, this is worth keeping on your radar. Fans of Z/X: Ignition's blend of supernatural conflict and card mechanics will also find familiar ground here. It's a TV series dropping in 2026, episode count still unknown, but the Vanguard franchise has always delivered on the strategy front. The crimson moon hook and Fantôme transformations give this entry a darker edge than most card game anime tend to aim for.

The card effects were seriously cool. Liel's attacks looked amazing on screen and the final clash was hype
The whole Kurumi swap thing felt so out of left field this twist messed with my head it just feels cheap
I really thought this was a 2v1 fight why was Hikari just standing there. Akina did all the work that was kinda lame
I was on the edge of my seat watching Akina's determination it was truly inspiring
Akina pulling off that Amorta perfect guard was genius and really turned the tide
Gabwelius talking about not being the same person we knew hit deep what a complex character
Okay, the emotional stakes were there, and the mental battle had potential, but not quite the 5D chess that would make me shout Light Yagami levels of outplayed. It's... mid 🤔
Another Cardfight episode huh? It was alright, not exactly Saturday morning Toonami magic but the duel was kinda mid. Still waiting for that real peak fantasy goodness like back in the day.
Hot take: All this 'magic and emotions' melodrama? Actually kinda mid, felt like a rehash of every other card game anime. 😴
Kurumi and Kanami's dual magic battle was like a Project Diva duet where both virtual singers hit their notes but the overall song chart was just kinda mid lol 🎶
Two magicks but all that yapping for a MID fight scene?! Where's the actual FIRE?!
YOOOO this episode was PURE HYPE, that intense tournament battle between Kurumi and Kanami was peak fiction, showing off the emotional stakes and raw victory only sports anime can deliver, making it better than your favorite shonen any day! 😤
kurumi vs kanami. decent fight, pretty emotional. kinda mid.
Okay, the romantic tension and emotional fireworks were *there*, but these girls are really testing my patience with their unspoken feels. JUST CONFESS ALREADY! 😩💖
This episode was visually stunning, seriously every frame is a screencap for my aesthetic blog, the magic and emotions were so good ✨
all that drama for a mid snoozefest 🥱
The sister drama was kinda there, but my reaction folder barely saw any action this ep, def a mid one for meme potential.
the orchestral score for kurumi and kanami's duel of destinies was a veritable symphony of emotion a truly grand composition that resonated with my very soul chef's kiss to the anime's profound depth 🎶✨
The OST for 'Two Magicks' just kinda existed in the background, no epic orchestral swells or killer synth drops to make the emotional beats hit. the score was super neutral, ngl 😐
Hearing the Japanese VAs pour their souls into the 'two magicks' showdown was a treat, but the parallel reality premise kinda left me feeling neither hyped nor disappointed, just... there. 🤷♀️
