Episode 6 hits hard with creepy abandoned hospital vibes and Dazai’s chaotic “poison mushroom” moment 😂 Kunikida goes full serious detective mode, and that Akutagawa clash? intense.

This episode is strange; it feels unfinished. There's a mystery, but no investigation to reach the last conclusions. We have a confrontation with "the bad guys," but it doesn't last long. We see flashbacks, but the resolution will come in the next episode. What I am impressed about, though, is how beautiful the art in this anime is; even an abandoned hospital looks like the best place to go for a stroll.

I have always viewed Kunikida as a serious and strict man but whenever he is with Dazai I just can’t stop laughing. Their duo was chaotic as ever. There’s a little bit of action and I feel like it’s not enough and was short, but the whole flow was interesting. The word play was good too and keeps my mind working for also deducting the scenes.

One of the biggest things I love about this series is almost every major incidents later on has sprinkles of foreshadowing early on. Dazai & Ranpo really show the audience how much of a different playing field they are especially in terms of intellect and deduction

A series of cryptic messages from a hacker known as the “Azure Messenger” leads the Agency into a digital mystery. Ranpo confidently studies the clues while Atsushi listens in awe of his deductions. It highlights the detective side of the series.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Arriving at the season's midpoint, this episode pivots from the broader Agency ensemble work of earlier cases like 'Murder on D Street' to a more personal investigation anchored by Kunikida. It functions as the first half of a two-part character study, directly setting up Episode 7, 'Love for the Disease Called Ideals,' which will push Kunikida's convictions to their breaking point. This stretch marks a tonal shift toward deeper character exploration before the season's back half escalates the larger conflicts.
