Blade of the Immortal

It was nice that this episode concluded through reflection rather than action and uses its time to show where each of our surviving character stands and what they carry going forward. I love Rin's internal change here, I am so proud of her growth over the past 12 episodes. The animation here is also really polished. Honestly, the ending here felt quite open but I am still satisfied for this is just a story with no simple answers.

This was such a meaningful episode and I felt like this episode shifted its tone onto a more quiet one in order to deliver one of the most important conversations here. The time spent at Manji's old home was pretty nice, it also reminded me of who Manji was before Rin came into his life. I also liked how they showcased Rin's progress in the first half. The second half though, it was so intense especially with the two key figures facing each other here.

Wow this episode was quite intense, it was also where Rin's journey hits its most personal point so far. I like how this episode showed the weight of what Rin is going through. I also appreciate Manji's role here and his importance for Rin is an all time high here. The animation here was somewhat lacking but the energy still carried the scene through anyway.

I like how this episode was constructed, it puts Rin in a spot where it is actually more complicated than just a simple revenge. Even the man she is facing was given enough personal history the made him feel not a flat villain but someone who has a deeper meaning behind his actions. The animation here was pretty consistent but there was one moment where it stood out, Rin's unexpected kindness in one of the scenes was actually the best moment in this episode.

I really like the action scenes in this episode. The confrontation here between the two fighters were intense and the animation here also reflects that. Honestly, how the fight develops here made me unsure where it is going but the animations were really clean. I also appreciate that they still left some space for the backstory of our fighters which adds more weight onto the fight.

I really like the new character here, it is someone who does not fit neatly into any of the established roles the show has set up so far. The pacing here lets our new character meet the new duo naturally. And the music here is actually the most memorable part, that strumming instrument heard during the scenes of our new character was iconic.

This felt more of a transitional episode that attempts to tie off a loose end while opening the path forward for a bigger conflict. The pacing was okay, it moves the plot from one stage to another without a lot of drama around it. The animation is still pretty consistent since the first episode.

Wow this episode just raised the stakes for more than one group at the same time, it uses the events happening to our side characters to make the main story feel more dangerous and unpredictable. The animation here during the action scenes were amazing, the movements were clean and sharp.

I like the first half of this episode, the villain group felt a bit more complex and the character the first half focuses on actually has an interesting backstory. The writing here also takes its time to make me understand where this person comes from before putting them in front of Rin and Manji which actually makes the encounter hit a lot harder than it would without the context.

The finale took a more thoughtful approach, focusing on where the story and characters ended up rather than going for a huge final battle. I liked how it gave the journey a more emotional finish and let the important moments speak for themselves. It felt like a proper ending that looked back on everything that came before. A fitting conclusion that left me satisfied with how the season wrapped up.

This episode was more character centric but I do like that they explored who he is behind that calm and creative face. The pacing here felt slower and it spends its time building up the situation here. There is not much on the setting here as it was pretty much contained into an indoor setting.

I wasn’t expecting a more character-focused episode to be this interesting. The training and conversations gave it a different feel from the usual fights, and I liked how it focused more on the ideas behind the conflict. It was less about the action and more about understanding the characters, which made the episode feel different in a good way. It kept me interested even without relying on big fights.

Okay so in this episode it doesn't really feel like the plot moves very fast but I do like what the story here added to the characters. The animation here is actually quite nice and the outdoor riverside setting features some nice art with the water and the lights. The Mugai-ryu's presence and purpose here became a little more clearer and helped me understand the overall picture.

This was overall a solid episode as it really starts building the actual story between our characters Rin and Manji. I like how this episode showed how these two characters are different from each other without having to explain it directly. The animation here is pretty consistent and the design of the members here actually left a clear impression.

This episode does a good job setting up who Manji is and shows why he really is the MC. I like that this show isn't afraid to have heavy parts this early on in the series. And even though this was an older anime, the animation were still clean, even during the rougher scenes.

I like how Rin's character became more mature compared to the earlier episodes. It was nice to see how every character played a part in making the story more interesting and meaningful. The ending felt just right and wrapped everything up in a satisfying way.

This episode finally revealed the truth behind all of Rin's questions as she came face to face with the leader of those responsible. It was a deep and emotional episode that made me understand her character even more. I like how everything slowly came together, making the story even more meaningful.

This episode felt a bit predictable, but I still enjoyed watching it. Even though I had an idea of what might happen, the story was still interesting enough to keep me hooked. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything will end.
