Episode 9 is where the genuine mind-fuckery happens and you realize that Gennai motivations and his goals are not might even that out of possibility, I can see myself agreeing with the guy. While some plot lines are far too cliched to take seriously, it's when you consider who holds the wish that makes this show engaging.

After several episodes of escalating battles, Episode 9 slows things down slightly to focus on revelations that reshape the audience’s understanding of the story. Hidden motivations, past events, and secrets connected to Eiji’s wish begin coming to the surface. This episode works best when it embraces the mystery element because it finally starts answering questions that have been hanging over the series since the beginning. Some of the reveals are predictable, but others genuinely help make the larger narrative clearer. The episode also does a decent job showing how different characters interpret the truth differently, which adds some complexity to the ongoing conflict. While not as action-heavy as the previous episode, it is arguably more important because it provides context that makes future events more meaningful.

The plot enters a dark psychological territory as Eiji's father, Gennai, unleashes his master plan, plunging Eiji into deep emotional despair. Visuals are dominated by high-contrast crimson and pitch-black lightning effects that completely swallow the screen, mirroring Eiji's fracturing mental state.
