Baka & Test – Summon the Beasts 2 Episode 12: Idiots, Clownery, and Requiem!

The episode opens with Akihisa's exaggerated terror, his head comically peeking from behind a headless suit of armor. This is his summoned beast, an elaborate, yet utterly baffling, companion. Yuuji, Hideyoshi, and Shouko observe this oddity, with Yuuji noting its surprisingly luxurious equipment. The others then try summoning their own beasts, hoping for less bizarre results.

When Mizuki Himeji and Minami Shimada arrive, they greet everyone cheerfully. But the strange summon remains a mystery until Yuuji explains that these beasts reflect the student's true nature. Akihisa initially believes his headless knight represents a chivalrous spirit. Minami quickly shatters this illusion, stating his summon is headless because he himself is an idiot.

The camera then shifts to Yuuji's summon, which appears as a bare-chested demon, complete with horns and a tail. Akihisa protests, calling it a monster, not a doppelganger. This demon immediately proves its monstrous nature by kicking Akihisa's summon's head off, treating it like a soccer ball. The situation escalates further when Yuuji's summon transforms into a monstrous werewolf-like creature.

Himeji and Minami decide to summon their own beasts. Himeji's summon materializes as a succubus-like demon girl, clad in a revealing outfit with bat wings and spiderweb stockings. Both Akihisa and Hideyoshi are overwhelmed, suffering immediate nosebleeds from the unexpected sight. Himeji protests, claiming she is not that "big."

Minami then summons her beast, which is a giant, angry stone wall with green eyes and lanky limbs. She claims the summon's "hard" nature is because Himeji has a "nasty figure," an accusation Himeji denies. Minami then violently twists Akihisa's arm in annoyance. She even attacks Akihisa's summon, breaking it in frustration.

Suddenly, Miharu Shimizu, Minami's younger sister, attacks Akihisa, accusing him of bothering her sister. She is soon joined by Shunpei Natsukawa and Yuusaku Tsunemura, two upperclassmen from Class 3-A. They blame Class F for various disturbances and demand to fight. Miharu and Toshimitsu Kubo step in to defend Akihisa, ready for battle.

Miharu and Kubo's summons, described as 'lost gods', easily defeat the upperclassmen's beast, much to their frustration. The Headmistress then intervenes, declaring the remaining points will be used for a "Test of Courage." Shunpei and Yuusaku are assigned to be the 'Ogre' scarecrows, eager to get their revenge. The rules are laid out: challengers must clear four checkpoints by battling summoned beasts.

Yuuji announces that students will enter the haunted house in pairs, intending to pair boys and girls for maximum comedic effect. Shouko Kirishima blackmails Akihisa, threatening immediate marriage if he does not team with Yuuji. Himeji, fearing she might scream and hold others back, is reassured by Akihisa and Minami, who promise to work hard so she doesn't have to enter. This reveals the true stakes: avoiding the haunted house.

The 'Test of Courage' begins, with various students facing the 'Ogres'. Yuuko Kinoshita and Kouta Tsuchiya are among the first to be disqualified, their screams echoing through the spooky halls. Other students follow, depicted in quick succession as they succumb to the terrifying monster encounters. Minami observes that the third-year students are taking this quite seriously.

Kubo finds himself paired with Miharu, complaining about being stuck with another male. He blushes when Kouta saves Miharu from falling, holding her hand. Later, Kubo declares he will protect Miharu from a terrifying ghost. Despite his determined words and blush, they are both quickly disqualified by an even more terrifying specter. Akihisa watches with growing anger from the sidelines.

The disqualifications continue, one after another, until almost all of Class F has been eliminated. Miharu screams in fright, followed by Kubo. Even Hideyoshi, despite his usual composure, is disqualified. Finally, Hideyoshi, still in a dress, scares Akihisa, causing him to suffer a nosebleed and be disqualified. The assault unit is annihilated.

With everyone else out, only Akihisa and Yuuji remain to reach the final checkpoint. They face two intimidating figures, Ichihara and Nanami, who summon a mummy and a zombie. Akihisa's summon is a spider, and Yuuji's is a cat-like creature, neither particularly impressive. A fierce battle ensues, but Akihisa and Yuuji's summons are quickly overwhelmed.

Just as Akihisa and Yuuji face certain defeat, Hideyoshi appears. He is dressed in a girl's swimsuit and brings his summon, a swimsuit-clad girl. This summon performs acrobatic moves and defeats Ichihara and Nanami's monsters with shocking ease. The crowd cheers, and Akihisa and Yuuji are left utterly surprised by Hideyoshi's unexpected power.

Class F celebrates their unlikely victory, cheering for their success. Akihisa and Yuuji share a moment, with Akihisa expressing gratitude and reflecting on friendship. However, their celebration is cut short. The Headmistress sternly reminds them that they still have to clean up the aftermath of the 'Test of Courage'. The class immediately begins complaining about the unexpected chore.
