The Narrator sets a grim tone. The 'Test of Courage' is going poorly for the second-years. Shohei Natsukawa and Yugo Tsunemura, the dreaded 'Tokonatsu' duo, have systematically dismantled their opposition. The camera pans over the defeated students, emphasizing the uphill battle that Akihisa Yoshii and Yuuji Sakamoto still face. It is a stark reminder of the stakes.

Yuuji Sakamoto, ever the strategist, unveils his 'secret weapon' to a skeptical Akihisa Yoshii and the others. This weapon, he explains later, involves exploiting the intense, unrequited feelings of Toshimitsu Kubo and Miharu Shimizu. Akihisa is appalled that Yuuji would so callously use their friends' emotions. Yuuji remains unbothered, focused only on the tactical advantage.

Inside the haunted house, Minami Shimada is terrified, clinging to Akihisa Yoshii. Zombies lunge, and a tracking device latches onto Akihisa's nose. Then Miharu Shimizu appears, eyes glowing, hunting for Minami. Akihisa realizes Yuuji has weaponized Miharu's obsession. Akihisa tries to comfort Minami, mentioning his loneliness if she left. Minami leans in, nearly confessing, but Akihisa's obliviousness shatters the moment.

At the checkpoint, Shohei Natsukawa and Yugo Tsunemura await. Kubo and Miharu emerge, their singular obsessions radiating tangible menace. A fierce summon battle ensues. Despite their high stats and tactical prowess, Kubo and Miharu are outmatched by the seniors' experience and the haunted house's environmental advantages. They are overwhelmed and disqualified, Yuuji's 'weapons' proving insufficient.

With Kubo and Miharu out, Shoko Kirishima steps up, forcing Yuuji to rely on her. Hideyoshi Kinoshita notes Mizuki Himeji is the last one remaining. Despite her fear of scary things, Mizuki volunteers, inspired by Minami. She asks Akihisa to go with her, determined to prove her worth. Inside the haunted house, Mizuki, trembling, confronts Akihisa. She tells him she is tired of being idealized, that his politeness keeps him distant, hurting her more than any monster.

The lights plunge the house into darkness. Akihisa feels a hand, whispers words of sincere protection, believing it to be Mizuki. When the lights return, he finds he is holding Yuuji Sakamoto's hand. Yuuji, with a deadpan face, explains he swapped places with Mizuki and Shoko to let them bypass a trap. Akihisa is horrified to have bared his soul to his best friend. Yuuji, meanwhile, recounts his own desire to escape Shoko, whose 'nail-bat' trauma is shown in a quick flashback.

Mizuki and Shoko navigate the traps. Akihisa and Yuuji, hidden, observe Mizuki gritting her teeth against fear, refusing to cower. Yuuji explains Mizuki wants to be an equal, to protect Akihisa in return. They reach the checkpoint where Shohei and Yugo wait. The seniors launch cruel insults at Akihisa and Yuuji. Mizuki's fatigue turns to pure fury. She shouts a passionate defense of her friends, declaring their worth beyond grades. Her outburst leads to her and Shoko's disqualification, but Mizuki walks away with relief and dignity.

Inspired by Mizuki's stand, Akihisa and Yuuji emerge, challenging the seniors to a final summon battle with a penalty game. Yuuji sets a trap, using a recording of Hideyoshi's voice to lure them. He then reveals a shift to a Math subject test, crippling the science-focused seniors' beasts. Akihisa's summon, resilient from constant punishment, and Yuuji's beast, work in tandem. The boys launch a coordinated strike, shattering the seniors' summons. Akihisa delivers a verbal blow, reminding them they were beaten by the 'trash' they despised. The defeated third-years are then forced to apologize to Mizuki.

As the sun sets, Shoko Kirishima and Yuuji Sakamoto walk together. Shoko quietly admits she likes hard-working people, clearly referencing Yuuji. He tries to hide a blush, but his composure falters. Shoko clings to his arm. For once, Yuuji does not pull away, allowing a moment of unspoken understanding to settle between them.

Akihisa meets Mizuki Himeji on the rooftop, bathed in warm orange light. Mizuki tells him about the seniors' apology. She then challenges him to use her first name, 'Mizuki'. Akihisa, flustered and red, struggles to articulate why he finds it so embarrassing. Mizuki watches with an expectant, mischievous smile. She then leans in, giggles, and tells him her 'first love' is ongoing, giving him a quick, sweet kiss on the cheek. Akihisa is left stunned as Mizuki skips away, leaving him alone in the twilight.

The season concludes with chaotic post-credits pandemonium in the school halls. Akihisa flees from a jealous Minami Shimada and a murderous Miharu Shimizu. Yuuji runs from Shoko Kirishima, who brandishes a marriage certificate. Even Iron Man (Soichi Nishimura) appears, sprinting to catch them. Despite the madness, a montage of memories reminds us of their strong, albeit dysfunctional, bonds, ending with the class together.
