You can tell these two are trying way too hard to act like they know what they are doing and Shuuji is a total dork for making a whole plan for seduction

hitotsume_kozo_31
The way Shuuji tries to treat a date like a business meeting with his method is so embarrassing and the premium version really does not hold back when the method actually starts working

It makes me laugh how Mio sees right through his stupid consultant logic and it makes their chemistry feel way more real than most shows like this

That method Shuuji keeps talking about is so awkward but watching Mio call him out on his nonsense makes the dynamic work and they are both clearly disasters at this adult romance thing
notlem's avatar

I cannot believe Shuuji actually thinks he has some secret strategy to get women going and watching him try to act cool when he is clearly just as lost as Mio is a riot
tigers_eye's avatar

That chemistry between Mio and Shuuji during the lesson is really obvious even if he is just using a weird method he probably made up himself
kuchisake_onna_52's avatar

Thinking back to her failed engagement, the way Mio approaches this strange lesson plan feels a lot more grounded than the usual romance setup.

Watching the complete version handle the romantic tension while they talk about this bizarre lesson plan is great and it makes the short runtime feel way more packed than it actually is

Shuuji basically declaring he will fix her love life is such a bold move and it was funny to see how Mio reacted because she clearly thinks he is a total weirdo for it

I actually found it pretty funny how Shuuji carries himself like some master of romance, even though he’s been out of the game for seven years. Seeing Mio try to process his ridiculous love coaching while dealing with her own awkwardness about dating again was the best part. I really like how the complete version doesn’t let the comedy kill the heat.

This whole love coaching setup feels really forced and it is hard to take Shuuji seriously as some expert when he admits he hasn't had a girlfriend in seven years

kyogre_307
I think it is kind of weird that Shuuji is acting like a pro love consultant while he has been alone for almost a decade and Mio seems like she is just going along with it for no reason
kohaku_kunoichi's avatar
kohaku_kunoichi
The tension when Shuuji was explaining his method to get women interested in him was actually pretty good for such a short episode and it feels like they are moving fast
garou_gusher_121's avatar

Mio forgetting how to even feel anything for men in her internal monologue hit me because it is such a stark contrast to Shuuji acting like a professional love coach

Seeing Mio realize she actually forgot how to even like guys was hilarious and Shuuji acting like a pro when he has been single for seven years is such a funny twist

The pacing felt a little rushed during the office scenes and it would have been better to get more actual conversation before they ended up back at the hotel
monk_mijah_301's avatar
monk_mijah_301
That hotel scene really showed how much they are starting to click and it is way more than just a physical thing at this point
ningyo_nemesis_48's avatar
ningyo_nemesis_48
I didn't expect to get so attached to these two so quickly but the way they both struggle with being vulnerable as adults is so relatable, especially when Mio was overthinking everything in the hallway and it feels like they are finally moving past the awkward practice phase and actually starting to see each other as more than just a distraction from their boring lives

Watching Mio try to act all professional at work after that night with Shuuji was hilarious because you can tell she is totally distracted by him now
rolo_lamperouge's avatar

I really thought Shuuji was going to be way more annoying but seeing him actually take care of Mio after they finished was actually sweet and it made their whole arrangement feel more real

EPISODE CONTEXT

At Episode 3 of 8, the series has cleared its setup phase and is now deepening the central relationship dynamics introduced in Episodes 1 and 2. This is the point where early tension typically converts into meaningful development, raising the emotional and physical stakes heading into the second half. What happens here will likely set the conditions for the complications and resolutions that Episodes 4 through 8 will pay off.
