A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace

Futami introduces Satou to her family, and she takes a big step in her own professional and personal life. Though I’d love to see more of all the main characters, I think this episode is a satisfying end to a warm, easy show that I ended up liking much than I expected.

Futami reunites with her old workmates while Hazama and Saitou meet up too. They all reminisce on how lucky they’ve been so far, and they look forward to the bright careers ahead of them. Futami has another life-changing event. It’s all sentimental in the best way.

Nekonote comes to town! She gets to meet one of her idols, and in her POV we feel the excitement of joining a manga drawing team. Nashida faces challenges with her new series & as a solution… she has a romance arc? Lots going on in this episode.

Hazama is temporarily banned from the workplace & is forced to think about what her work means to her. They take a little vacation. Futami gets to meet one of her heroes. This episode is more emotional than comedic so it would've been nice to see more dramatic compositions.

Futami and Hazama go outside to touch grass and find something adorable. Nashida has a great day for once, & we see how she’s really a part of the workplace now. Everyone loves Futami! For the visuals, wish the color palette was better.

This episode takes us through the behind-the-scenes of how manga covers are made & Futami meets some interesting people along the way. She also gets a surprise visit from a friend, the charmingly polite Nagomi, who has a lot more to her than meets the eye.

We get to know more about Futami’s workmates, they meet her long-distance assistant, & hangs out with Touko. More drama with editors as she enters her “main character arc”, & Satou makes a bold move. A lot going on & again, I wish they did more creative choices with the animation

A rival editor tries to steal Futami away for a new manga project. Futami & Satou’s professional (& personal?) relationship is put to the test. Such drama! I do think however, some dramatic scenes could've been composed better for more emotional impact.

While Futami &Hazama brainstorm, someone from Futami’s recent past barges into her home. Nashida’s unpredictable personality brings new chaos to the workplace. With this amount of chaos, I wish they pushed the animation further to match it with the energy that this episode has.

Futami’s manga is finally in out! We follow them as they promote & celebrate the first volume. It’s a big moment for Futami & for Satou as well, as she reveals how much the manga means to her too. As fun as the episode was, I wish the animation was a bit more fluid here.

As an artist, battling deadlines & her own limits, I understand how stressful it is for our lead. With help from an additional assistant & shogi player, she is pumped! She also gets to show off her own skills & get to see why she’s perfect for her job.

The art style is slowly growing on me . Here, we see a different side of Futami’s relationship with her assistant Hazama as the show goes into their past. It’s touching, & also relatable to me as an artist. There’s a great balance between the comedic & emotional parts.

We meet Futami, a stressed and delusional mangaka, & her cheerfully blunt assistant Hazama. She struggles hilariously with deadlines, with her assistant, & with her cool, mysterious editor Satou. I laughed more than I expected, & I’m looking forward to the rest of the show!

A sweet ending, the whole series is about a mangaka found family and appreciating those around you. It's nice to see her found and real family that just surround her with so much support and love.

This episode you see some real growth in Futami, between her not wanting the book signing and ending with her enjoying it. The pushing home that you need the people around you for support and growth, to returning home. Really a good SOL

This episode gives big Nashida feels, and the art/facial expressions she makes as if she is falling in love for the first time! Totally what we needed as it winds down to the conclusion.

A good break for our characters from all their deadlines and pressure. But the fan girling was cute and so relatable; also the yuri-not-yuri bathtime flushter for Futami and Sato! I ship this

S1 EP12: I like the character, the voice, the hair, and the style of the Main Sensei - The Smoking Cool Sensei. I love the reactions and animation really of Nashida-san face reactions LOL, the mangaka is really amusing. I am so proud of Futami-sensei, I wish I was there

S1 EP11: This is a hilarious episode, especially the reactions in the scene where Nashida-san and Toko-san are playing girlfriend in a date. The animation of funny and schock faces is hilarious. I enjoy this episode, this show so much.

S1 EP10: This ep is refreshing, its like a warm introduction before the big finale. Sato-san and The Shogi Queen looks the same, I though they are the same person at first when I saw the poster on the previous episodes. Overall, this ep shows that its about to end.
