A Certain Scientific Accelerator
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Academy City stands at the forefront of scientific and technological progress, best known for their development of espers: those capable of wielding superhuman abilities that alter the rules of reality. The most powerful among them are the Level 5s, and the one known as Accelerator reigns supreme, even after being weakened by a severe brain injury. By his side is the young girl known as Last Order, whom despite his cold demeanor, he holds closely and vows to protect at all costs. Though Accelerator may be recovering from his injury, the dark side of Academy City never rests, and so he finds himself unwillingly caught up in the midst of a new conflict. When a mysterious young woman approaches Accelerator in pursuit of Last Order, the highest-ranked esper is confronted by a venomous organization that has taken root in Anti-Skill, Academy City's peacekeeping organization. With dangerous forces on the move that threaten to put Last Order and her sisters at risk, the self-proclaimed villain prepares to step into the darkness once again.

good
A dramatic conclusion to the Necromancer Arc. I liked the changes compared to the manga but I also wish some of the scenes and lines from the manga had been included in this adaptation. Don't say I didn't warn you when I clearly said to watch Season 1 and 2 of Toaru Majutsu no Index on my ep 1 review since there's a major spoiler in this episode regarding Accelerator. To be honest I liked what Esther did to Huotou in this anime but unfortunately it will also invalidate the future stories featuring her. I don't have any complaints about the soundtrack or animation in this episode. Nothing looked odd and the soundtrack was fire, especially during the action scenes. P.S. If you want to continue where the anime left off, start reading from Ch 36 of the manga. However, I highly recommend to start reading from the beginning.
Consider this episode to be somewhat like the heroes' party climbing a "tower" to defeat the Demon Lord 🤭. The coloring isn't back to normal in this episode, considering that the main source of the problem still hasn't been dealt with. I guess it's also a good way to dampen the impact of the gory scenes. I do have some complaints about how some scenes are being handled (don't worry it's also the same in the manga), cause it looks illogical and dumb. If things continue the way they are, it's going to be another tragedy for the Hishigata siblings. P.S. Another reference to a certain spiky-headed boy is made in this episode. Hearing about it sure puts a smile on my face.
There's a big twist and a major revelation in this episode. As someone who has read the Toaru Majutsu no Index NT light novels, I had already foreseen the outcome of Mikihiko's research. I would like to go into detail about it but I'd end up spoiling the story, so it's best that I refrain from doing so. I have no complaints about the animation in this episode. The dramatic shift in color is also fitting, considering the situation they're facing.
This episode is very suspenseful. It has the same sense of urgency as Ep 7 and to make matters worse, the fight has reached the residential area of Academy City. There were some noticeable inconsistencies in the animation and they were so obvious that I could spot them at a glance. P.S. There's a line from Accelerator that brought back memories of his fight with Touma. Kudos if you caught the reference.
This episode is a complete retelling of the tragedy that happened to the Hishigata siblings. The flashback showed everything: Mikihiko's research, their goals, why they were doing it and the exact moment when everything went terribly wrong for them. The pacing didn't feel rushed and I don't have any complaints about the animation since there wasn't any action in this episode. P.S. If only the siblings had encountered Heaven Canceller then their fates would have been completely different
You couldn't be more wrong if you think everything is going to calm down now just because Accelerator defeated the members of Scavenger. Despite the brief interlude, the battle is far from over. After all, only the enemy's pawn has been taken off the board. There are some odd animation in this episode and the studio did cut some corners but overall it's still fine and it's not that distracting. P.S. If you think about it, this is the first time that Yomikawa got involved with the magic side seeing that this is before Vento of the Front infiltrated Academy City.
What a satisfying episode! It's still action-packed but this time the fight doesn't revolve around guns. The soundtrack during the fight was fantastic and it was incredibly satisfying to see what happened to the Scavengers after all their gloating. If you want to compare to the OG source, this episode covers ch 13–17 of the manga. I'm still undecided on whether I prefer the manga or the anime because each has its own charm. The manga is more explicit while the anime did have some small changes, it has some pretty good animation, I also prefer how the characters are drawn and the voice actors nailed their roles.
