I like the moral questions brought up. I really didn't expect it to go this deep. I pegged it to be a "club request of the day" anime. Am enjoying this more and more
Rather than advancing the plot, I’d say we see something more philosophical here—the line between right and wrong, what is truth, and what is a lie? What is okay to show versus what should be hidden? Even our protagonist has an internal conflict about that. I also find it really interesting how something can become popular even if it isn't real, only to be easily replaced by something else later. Have you noticed that this happens in our world too? It ends on a comedic note, but I really liked the writing for this episode.
And with that, my hope was dashed the second I saw how this episode handled its subject matter. The writers seem to be confused about how to insert real-life issues into the story, with all the contrivances involved, and suddenly, there is a rift going on between the cast, which again came out of nowhere. That and its muddled message to its viewers make it upsetting to watch. Hope we can do better next time.
