Toka and Kyosuke ended up carrying this episode harder than I remembered. What could've just been another "strong character is sad because they're too strong" story actually has some weight to it. Akina gets a great moment too. Low key one of the episodes that sold me on the heart of this series.
I like how in this episode we learn more regarding why the youkai are here in the first place and what is the significance of the pillars surrounding the town are. In this episode we also learned about Akina how he is significant about this as well. The pace of the story is going smoothly which make me enjoy this episode.
The tone of this episode was light-hearted. Friendships built within the yokai - human world was amazingly implied. However, that accidental moment was nerve-racking! The animation of Touka's partial transformation was smooth. Akina and Kyousuke's heated confrontation was pretty intense, too.
