This was an amazing episode because we learned more about our second years! I loved the second years. As in many sports anime, they're not the overarching goals that of the third years, and they're not the main characters, the first years, so they're very often not focused on, but when they are focused on, it's so easy to see how they are still second years with this year more experience. I love when we see characters, team members that are not usually featured in the episodes. Because they show how they still are a part of a team that regularly has extraordinary people in it.

I love that this anime keeps proving cycling is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. Everyone is clearly reaching their limits, yet nobody wants to back down. The way strategy starts becoming more important adds another layer of excitement that keeps every race feeling different.

Sakamichi's eyes are full of determination when he asks that. I like that scene. The captain's decision for the training is brutal, he even made it more brutal with his decision in this episode. The captain is underestimating the first years. I like the competition among the second-year and fourth-year students in this episode.
